Chronic inflammation of the sweatglands
(hydradenitis)
![]()
An inflammation of the seatglands can arise acutely with abces formation, or it can be chronic with more or less complaints from time to time. It can be limited to a small area or spread to a larger area. Preferred places are the groin and axilla. Sometimes an operation is necessary.
Depending on the size of the area surgery can be done in local or in general anesthesia. Excision (in this case with an electric knife) is done in healthy tissue in order to let the healingprocess take place in healthy tissue.
Despite the size of the defect suturing is in general possible.
